What is the Occupy Movement? The occupy movement is a global movement encompassing individuals throughout the world, and in the United States composed of those who have become fed up with the state of the union and are gathering in large numbers to occupy public areas in protest and to let their dissatisfaction be heard. General complaints have been levied against corporate control of the country and monetary inequalities among the people. We have not set an agenda because our goals rise above politics. Our desire is to see the freedom of the entire human race, in harmony, and with liberty and justice for all.
While you may read a thing or two or listen to the news about these events, no one group or person can say that they have the exact statement of what the protests are for. The collective mind of all the Anonymous people put together that will chime in a chorus and produce results. While Anonymous is the name of an internet presence, it is also the name of every unidentified soldier who has been buried, it is also the name of the author of every song whose words have lived beyond the writer through history. Most importantly, we are the 99%, and we come from many different trajectories and backgrounds. We are united in being exasperated, we are united in wanting change. The Occupy Movement may be researched on the www.occupytogether.org/faq/ web site. More information on the occupy movement can be found through a simple Google search, or by reading the following Wikipedia page: wiki/Occupy Wall Street Look for us and the other nearly 1500 cities that are holding events at occupytogether.org and let the world know you are coming to support the Occupy Movement at Occupy Appleton! |
